Final Oscar Predix! (Feb. 2010)

Okay, speculation time is over. Time to man up!

The predictions on the sidebar haven't really changed a whole lot for the past week, but I'm posting them all (plus one alternative prediction for each category) after the cut just to be official and on the record.

Every year I afford myself ONE wacky guess that I don't really think is going to happen, but that I would really love to see just for comedy value. This year, it's "Petey's Song" from Fantastic Mr. Fox for Best Original Song. There's no way that'll ever happen, but if it did... LMAO! It really is a cleverly used song that begets the most hilarious moment of the film:

"That's just weak songwriting. You wrote a bad song, Petey!"

Full predictions after the cut.

I don't know why you won't dare predict "UP" for best Picture. It WILL get the nomination! Just watch - tomorrow I will say "I told you so".

People will not vote for "Nine" before "Up". In fact I predict "Nine" will not be nominated for Best Picture.

Because I am a cynic, Tom, and I do not trust the Academy to make the right decision on this one. The animation bias is real.

That being said, I'll be delighted to here you say "I told you so" is it does pull off a nomination, which it absolutely deserves. Until that time, I choose to remain skeptical.
