A 150-word special today (not much to report really):
Leonardo DiCaprio is in the Middle East helping the CIA (as personified by Russell Crowe) track down a terrorist leader. And as is expected, nothing is as it seems.
Sadly, the whole movie carries a very "been there, done that" qualiy around with it. The trailers boasted some show-stopping action pieces which proved to be much less kinetic than hoped, and don't mesh with the story very well. And what of the story with which the action does not mesh well? It's really quite plain. Lots of talking on cell phones and shifting eyes. I had high expectations in February, but it seems my enthusiasm was wasted on this blazze film (you know a film is plain when you have little to say about it).
I don't see why it can't still pick up one or two craft nominations, but beyond that, Body of Lies will be virtually invisible this awards season.
