Off in the distance

I chose a bad time of year to become an Oscar blogger. As Ferris Bueller would say, "You're still here? It's over. Go home."

But I simply can't sit still when such an alluring year of film lies ahead. As futile as it is, I had to look for early predictions. The most thorough examination comes from Kris Tapely at In Contention. He's clearly had his nose to the wind for some time, but we'll have to wait for the movies to see if they have any hope at awards consideration.

Personally, I see the final five looking something like this:

The Curious Case of Banjamin Button
Revolutionary Road
WALL-E
Body of Lies
Milk
